The Cenotaph is a simple, stone war memorial located on Whitehall in London, England. Originally erected as a temporary structure for a peace parade following the end of the First World War, it was later unveiled as a permanent memorial in 1920. The site is now the location of the annual National Service of Remembrance and is a large gathering in central London for Remembrance Sunday.
